Full-Time Strategy Manager @ Washington Commanders


Job Description:


The role of the Strategy Manager is to manage the development, execution, and measurement of a strategic agenda for the Washington Commanders. Working closely with the Executive Team, the Strategy Manager will oversee strategic governance, OKRs, and project management of major projects; and collaborate closely with Finance to translate the organization’s strategy into the budget and long-range plan. The Manager will also work closely with departments on continuous improvement and innovation projects that they identify and oversee.

Key projects include:

  • Developing and running an offsite for the senior leadership team to set priorities for the next 18 months

  • Working closely with Finance to develop a budget and CapEx plan that reflects the organization’s strategic priorities

  • Partnering with departments to develop objectives and key results (OKRs) as well as annual budgets

  • Working closely with the President and Executive Team to manage against OKRs, including through data visualizations

  • Determining in consultation with People Operations how to incentivize and reward employees for achieving org-wide goals

  • Cascading the enterprise strategy throughout the organization and involving Directors and VPs in developing and executing enterprise goals

  • Managing monthly OKR and budget reviews, as well as monthly commercial governance meeting focused on key decisions across the organization

Skills include:

  • Strong project management skills and problem-solving mindset

  • Clear written and verbal communication, including in memo and PowerPoint form

  • Experience developing basic Excel models and data dashboards

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members with a variety of backgrounds and experiences

  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize independently
