SASKIA VAN RHEENEN

Saskia van Rheenen is a first-year MBA student at NYU Stern School of Business. She is fascinated by how sports bring communities and people together, as well the increasing role of data analytics in the sports industry.
 
Prior to business school, Saskia worked at Nike in Finance & Strategy. As a Strategy Associate, she focused on strategic initiatives in the B2B and B2C marketplace. As a side-hustle, she also worked as a research associate for Anita Elberse, Professor in Entertainment, Media and Sports at Harvard Business School. In this part-time role, Saskia co-authored two Harvard Business School case studies and performed research on salary and transfer fee trends in the biggest sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Premier League and La Liga. This summer, Saskia will be joining TEAM8 Sports & Entertainment for a full-time internship. In this role, she will focus on strategic initiatives and the execution of the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup in London. 
 
She is originally from Utrecht, The Netherlands and graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam with a M.S. in Behavioral Economics. Saskia is a tennis player, a runner, a yogi and a life-long Roger Federer fan.
