The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Consumer Products and Operations Intern:


The Consumer Products Team contributes to the growth and engagement of the Team USA and LA28 brands through licensed products. The team is responsible for securing new licensees, guiding the development of product, distribution, retail planning, product marketing and e-commerce. The team is also responsible for outfitting Team USA at the Olympic & Paralympic Games, Pan and Para Pan American Games and the Youth Olympic Games.


The Consumer Products Digital Marketing and Operations Intern will be vital in supporting the entire team to ensure deadlines are met and overall organization is streamlined. The ideal candidate will have some prior experience with a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, advertising, branding, digital marketing, and social media. The incumbent must be organized and adept at multitasking; able to handle many diverse projects at once and meet tight deadlines. You’ll collaborate with our sales, communications, athlete, social impact, creative strategy and design teams to help drive the overall success of Team USA and the LA28 Games.


This position will report to the Director of Consumer Products - Marketing.


Key Responsibilities:


Marketing

  • Assist in design process and art asset creation for social media, email, and website

  • Support Consumer Products Designer in asset creation for Team USA and LA28 Shop including social media posts, email creative, homepage spot creative, etc.

  • Support brand design initiatives, including template creation, photoshoot execution, mood boards, and design inspiration for future projects related to Team USA and LA28

  • Researching industry trends and sharing synthesized reports

  • Work with Director of Marketing on the development of a photography asset management system

Business Development

  • Assist in development of pitch decks for strategic licensing opportunities

  • Provide project management support across consumer products workstreams

  • Support director of consumer products with trademark tracking and enforcement

  • Coordinate team meetings, agendas, and recap notes

Internal Apparel/Gift Closet

  • Assist in gift closet organization, inventory, and management

Position Requirements:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress or recent graduate

Expectations:

  • Digital Acumen, fluency in established digital design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Suite) and practices.

  • Excellent project and time management skills and ability to manage and prioritize changing workloads to meet deadlines.

  • Concise grammatical skills, excellent oral and written communication

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional research, organizational, and problem-solving

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced and dynamic environment, both autonomously and collaboratively; including strong ability to interact diplomatically and with professional maturity with senior executives, staff and external business partners.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts.

  • Excellent analytical skills; capable of identifying and prioritizing issues, knowing when to escalate, and providing alternative solutions.

  • Positive, team-oriented, and collaborative

  • High level of personal integrity and professional ethics; ability to maintain absolute

  • Awareness of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, especially as it relates to EEO and anti-discrimination law in data collection.

  • Experience internationally is a plus (but not required).

The base salary range for this position is $16.00/hour. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
