THE POSITION: Our roster has an opening with your name on it

We are looking for a Market Insights and Research Director to be a thought-partner to multiple teams at FanDuel by leading the generation and socialization of marketing- and brand-related actionable insights. This position will play a critical role in providing strategic and tactical guidance for our creative strategies, advertising and marketing communications, and media planning by leveraging a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research tools. This role will also help evolve our long-term brand positioning across the FanDuel portfolio and will work with a broad range of business stakeholders to articulate the strategy behind what we do.

Reporting to the Market Insights and Research Vice President, this is an impactful role that will help shape the long-term strategic direction of our marketing and brands.

THE GAME PLAN: Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Develop and lead our creative and advertising insights measurement program to elevate FanDuel communications’ effectiveness and brand impact

  • Build trusted relationships with creative, marketing, and media teams and agencies, as well as other key stakeholders, to understand their needs, facilitate valuable discussions, and provide relevant insights to guide strategic and operational decision-making

  • Build and manage relationships with external research partners to deliver a strategic roadmap and relevant research programs aligned with marketing goals that provide consumer-driven insights to the business throughout the advertising planning, development, and measurement process

  • Oversee and elevate brand tracking initiatives to monitor and evaluate brand health, perceptions, and performance and to help guide direction for evolving FanDuel’s brand positioning within the changing competitive landscape

  • Monitor market and competitive trends, identifying opportunities and threats across the business

  • Drive an understanding of the importance of customer-generated insight with all business partners and stakeholders, and help connect the dots across various teams based on a consistent understanding of our consumer audiences

  • Develop compelling and action-oriented presentations and socialize research findings to relevant stakeholders across the business

  • Help foster a collaborative and innovative team working environment that values information-sharing and employs a mindset of process improvement and progress

  • Help identify and grow top talent within the Market Insights and Research team

THE STATS: What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing brand and advertising research either client- or agency-side

  • At least 3 years’ of management experience preferred

  • Proven ability to cut through noise, synthesize data from multiple sources, and identify relevant and compelling insights

  • Extensive experience with tools and methodologies for assessing creative, advertising, and media effectiveness and in-depth knowledge of the latest trends in generating brand- and advertising/marketing-related insights

  • Ability to work at pace with great attention to detail when required, while also being able to step back and work on macro projects maintaining a strategic perspective

  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver

  • Excellent storyteller who can create concise, visually-compelling communications that bring data and consumer insights to life

  • Brilliant interpersonal and presentation skills - you engineer trust, respect, and can tailor your approach to the situation and audience

The applicable salary range for this position is $148,000 to $198,000 which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
