A Lot About You

As a fantasy sports product manager, you inspire and focus your team(s) using great listening skills, your influence, and crisp, effective communication. You complement these skills with technical knowledge that makes you a credible leader and informs your judgment regarding timelines, scope, quality, priorities, and tradeoffs. You round your skills with a passion for and expertise in sports and fantasy games that will help define, shape and drive us towards a complete sports fan experience. You are the expert on how products are designed, used, measured, improved, and drive engagement. You support this expertise with a keen ability to break down large, complex problems into well-defined, manageable problems, and an ability to use data to inform your judgment. You are also experienced working in heavily regulated industries, supporting our sports betting business.

Your Day:

  • Direct, design, and implement a fantasy sports growth strategy with an understanding of the market, customer, and competition.

  • Responsible for the definition and ongoing management of our fantasy growth strategy at all stages of the product life cycle

  • Identify user needs and define > develop > launch > scale innovative experiences to address them.

  • Fully understand and optimize all aspects of the conversions funnels across the entire network

  • Build strong relationships across functions and organizations through on-time delivery, high quality products, and innovation.

  • Pull and analyze data to drive decisions based on data, not assumptions.

  • Strategize and conduct growth experiments – analyze results and iterate.

  • Manage a kanban board in order to effectively prioritize work within a sprint cycle.

  • Present ideas, goals and results to leadership and stakeholders across the organization

  • Perform competitive research

  • Communicate with customer care, design, editorial, engineering, marketing and user research teams.

You must have:

  • Passion for sports and knowledge of the competitive landscape

  • Excellent problem solving, listening & communication skills

  • An ability to multitask, organize & lead sophisticated projects, detail orientation, and able to summarize

  • Action oriented attitude with a passion to see your projects in production.

The compensation for this position ranges from $45,760.00 - $135,200.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about. Most roles don’t require specific regular patterns of in-person office attendance.
